Damaged Shipment Customer Protection Guidelines:

SHORTAGE:

Count the pieces received before you sign against driver's delivery receipt. Inspect before you sign any receipt.

Note any discrepancies in writing on the delivery receipt.  Be specific: identify or describe the missing or damage - sign damaged if the outer of the packaging/box is damaged.  For furniture or mattress foundations, if box is crushed, sign and note it as such.

DAMAGE:

1. Inspect all freight before you sign.  Freight drivers are professionals, however they have a  lot of stops to make and may be in a hurry.  It is crucial that any possible damage be noted on the delivery receipt while the driver is present at the time of delivery.

2. Note on the delivery receipt any obvious damage at the time of delivery (i.e. box corners crushed, tears, rips, marks, etc.)   Again, be specific and note exactly what is damaged.  Any notation is better than no notation and by doing this gives you lead way to inspect the shipment at greater length after the driver has left.

3.  If you suspect internal damage, OPEN IMMEDIATELY WHILE DRIVER IS PRESENT!

4.  Even if no damage is suspected, open the cartons within 24 hours and make a thorough inspection.  concealed damage freight claims are impossible to argue after the consignee (you) has had possession of the merchandise for more than 24 hours.

5.  Hold all damaged goods and their packaging materials for inspection and possible return to us for manufacturer inspection and/or repair.

6. Call us and report any damage so we can file a report with the freight company.  Bear in mind you are  signing a legal document when you are signing the freight delivery receipt.  We cannot accept any financial burden cause by failure to follow these guidelines.
